A native of Denmark, Sabbagh gets much of her artistic inspiration from her country of origin, where she continually returns each summer. She follows a contemporary artistic style, and is commonly drawn to the natural contrast of light and dark displayed in the natural beauty of the world. Sabbagh currently resides in Rowayton, Conn., and over the years has studied art at Parsons Fine Arts program in New York, the NYC Studio School, as well as Silvermine Arts Center in Connecticut. Her work consists of abstract paintings using oils, acrylics and mixed media, and has been shown in various individual and group exhibitions throughout Connecticut, New York City and Europe. Sabbagh also does commission work, integrating the painting with a site specific approach, in which she considers the space, materials, colors and personal interaction between the artist and client, to create a unique piece of art.
January 31st marks the first “Sundays at Sotheby’s” artist reception of 2016. The Rowayton office will showcase some of Sabbagh’s latest paintings on its walls. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served in a casual setting with opportunities to talk with Sabbagh, and discuss her work. All events of the evening are open to the public.
