Borne of the desire to offer community during the holiday season to Norwalk, long time resident Jessie McGarty established the first Community Thanksgiving Luncheon in 1999. Hosted at the former East Avenue United Methodist Church, now Cornerstone Community Church after the recent merger with Norwalk United Methodist, the Community Thanksgiving Luncheon is in its 17th year.
The Community Thanksgiving Luncheon is an inclusive event where everyone is invited to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner at no cost. Organized and served by volunteers for the people of Norwalk, it brings people of diverse backgrounds together to celebrate the community of Norwalk and allows all to give thanks for the blessings we have.
The Community Thanksgiving Luncheon is made possible through the generosity of Cornerstone Community Church, caring individuals, and other local businesses and organizations.
The Community Thanksgiving Luncheon will be hosted at Cornerstone Community Church located at 718 West Avenue (directly across the street from the main library) in Norwalk, CT 06850.
