Fairfield County Antique and Design Center welcomes Designer in Residence, Rebecca Soskin, and will be debuting her showcase at the event.
Born and raised in Darien, CT, Rebecca Tier Soskin attended William Smith College where she graduated with a degree in Studio Art and Art History. She began her career at Laura Ashley Inc. in Boston where she focused on Visual Merchandising, Home Furnishings and Interior Design. While dreaming up colorful compositions and scheming rooms for photo shoots, Rebecca found her love for decorating and design. Each space she works with becomes a collaboration of her client’s personality and her own innovative and elegant approach to design. She enjoys integrating simple styles with a hint of vintage and a splash of modern. Visually clean, each room takes on an energy of its own and becomes a place where you can enjoy your house, your home, your life.
Leclerc Contemporary Gallery, located adjacent to the center, will be featuring a new exhibition titled "Transforming Identity...Again"
“Transforming Identity...Again” is a group show curated by Claudine Maidique featuring emerging and established local artists responding to their ongoing and interchangeable experience with the intrinsic changes of their work and themselves as artists. The subject matter runs the gamut from the personal to societal, as it does in breadth, from photography to mixed media. Much of discussion that is relevant today in both the art world and in communities as a whole revolves around who and what is real. It is constantly altering; nothing stays static, nor does stagnancy have a place in this evolving world.
Throughout this group exhibit, we catch a glimpse and gain insight from a variety of individuals committed to their work and how the demands of the art world has forced them to respond to that changing landscape, while maintaining integrity and expression of self.
Participating artists include: Nina Bentley, Miggs Burroughs, Danielle Holmes, Jahmane, Duvian Montoya, Joel Werring, Tammy Winser, and Pam Zaremba
