The Rowayton Library is excited to host a presentation and book signing on Thursday June 30th at 7 PM with Peter Willcox, the author of ‘Greenpeace Captain: My Adventures in Protecting the Future of Our Planet’. Peter has been a captain with Greenpeace for over thirty years, sailing a large variety of ships all over the world. He estimates he has logged over 400,000 miles in all corners of the globe on missions to call international attention to the destruction of our environment.
‘Greenpeace Captain’ is his remarkable story. Peter started out as a young man sailing with Pete Seeger on the Clearwater, and progressed to his current position as the most senior captain in Greenpeace. He was a prisoner in Russia for two months in 2013 as part of the Arctic 30 and has been a fearless leader on a number of dangerous missions which he will talk about in his presentation. Please join us for what promises to be a fascinating evening with opportunities for questions and book signings. Peter grew up in Village Creek and is in Norwalk regularly between sailings on Rainbow Warrior. Refreshments will be served!
