The Fairfield County Progressive Gallery Tour, a program of the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County, is designed to bring our creative business, cultural nonprofit and artist members together with art collectors and the public together, once a month, to discover the richness and variety of our commercial gallery members across our region. Each month we visit a different town - from Greenwich to Shelton. Join us as we continue our third season with a visit to two galleries in Stamford on Wed. Oct. 24, 2018, 6-8pm: The GR Art Gallery and the Fernando Luis ALvarez Gallery.

We start at 1086 Long Ridge Road in North Stamford (just north of the Merritt Parkway) with the GR Art Gallery, where gallery owner George Pali will introduce our guests to his gallery and the current exhibition: a continuation of the Summer Time group show of works by Adriatik Baliaj, Heidi Lewis Coleman, Elizabeth Agresta Hasegawa, Yuko Ike, Arnold Kastenbaum, and George Pali himself. Of the artists, Heidi Lewis Coleman will be speaking about her work.
We then drive to Fernando Luis Alvarez Gallery, 96 Bedford Street in downtown Stamford where Mr. Alvarez will introduce his gallery and an important show by gallery artists Shelby Head:

"An Infrastructure of Silence is a collection of works that confronts institutional racism in U.S. America and the interconnections of slavery, race, poverty, wealth, and segregation in the United States. As a citizen of this democracy and an artist with shameful ancestral roots in the institutions of slavery, I have a shared responsibility to help confront the divisive and persistent effects of institutionalized racism on all Americans.
