Ahead of this year’s Norwalk Earth Day Festival on the Green this Saturday, April 27th, the Norwalk Bike/ Walk Commission is organizing “Get to The Green, Without a Machine”! This initiative encourages residents to walk, ride their bikes or take public transit to the festival rather than using a car.
The activity will start with a guided walk or bike ride and include a coordinated trash pickup from different locations in the City of Norwalk. Each initiative will begin at 10:30 AM but from a different location. You can RSVP and get more information by emailing norwalkearthday@gmail.com. All guided routes will then meet and gather at the Green at noon for the Earth Day Festival! You can also learn more by visiting norwalkearthday.org.
Please see additional sustainable transportation options below.
The Norwalk Transit District and Wheels2U provide bus routes and stops within a 5-minute walk (or less) to the Norwalk Town Green. Visit norwalktransit.com to see the schedule and ticketing information and plan your trip using this green transportation option.
Metro-North Railroad is a convenient, low-stress, and low-cost way to get to travel. From the East Norwalk Station, it’s one mile to the Green. Norwalk Transit District also has a bus route that takes passengers to stops at or close to the Green. Download the Metro-North App for train schedules and ticketing information.
If you plan to drive to the Norwalk Earth Day Festival on the Green this year, plan your greener travel by taking advantage of helpful resources such as the CTrides App, transitisatrip.com, Google Maps, or the Transit App. These tools will assist you in finding the most efficient and sustainable routes to the event.
