Michael Hedges is a Chicago-based abstract expressionist painter who has been a full-time artist since earning his B.A. in Studio Art from Loras College in 1998. His work centers on the synthesis of color, line, form, and texture, with an emphasis on energetic paint application and creating intense emotional vibrations in his pieces. Hedges often works on multiple paintings simultaneously, exploring different directions from a common theme. His goal is to balance stunning color relationships with form and texture, producing dynamic and controlled compositions. His art is held in corporate collections across Illinois and Iowa, as well as private collections both in the U.S. and internationally.
